ACTIFLOC

The Actifloc process is a compact, conventional-type pre-engineered and pre-fabricated water clarification and filtration system used in drinking water applications. It combines the Actiflo process with conventional mixed media filtration in a single tank system. The Actifloc process offers a stable system delivering high quality filtered water with reduced chemical use. The patented Actiflo system provides high rate ballasted floc clarification of highly turbid, colored, or solid laden waters, and waters susceptible to spiking conditions. The mixed media filtration delivers excellent predictable finished water quality. The system also includes a direct retention air/water backwash under drain system.

The Actifloc process is appropriate for use in any application that would benefit from physical-chemical treatment including coagulation, flocculation, settling and filtration. It can be applied to ground water, surface water, where either better performance or cost reduction is desired. The process consistently displays efficient removals from raw waters containing turbidity (high and low), color, TOC, algae, particle counts, cryptosporidium, iron, manganese, arsenic and other typical undesirable water contaminants.
