I. Kruger Inc. has been awarded a contract from ENCORE Construction Co. of Winter Garden, FL to furnish the Oxidation Ditch process equipment and related instrumentation and controls for the City of Minneola, Florida's 1.0 MGD Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Kruger assisted the engineering firm of PBS&J and the City during the evaluation, selection and design phases of the project. PBS&J selected the BIO-DENITRO mode of Phased Isolation Ditch (PID) Technology, -- an energy-efficient wastewater treatment process that consistently achieves high levels of nitrogen removal without internal recycle pumping or chemical dosing.
Kruger's water and wastewater treatment systems will continue to increase in Florida as the state continues to experience robust population growth and the associated challenge of providing plentiful drinking water, all the while treating increasing quantities of wastewater.
ENCORE Construction is expected to have the plant operational by the Spring of 2007.
