80 MGD ACTIFLO® plant for the City of Tacoma, Washington

I. Kruger Inc was awarded a contract from MWH Constructors Inc., Broomfield, Colorado for the supply of an 80 MGD ACTIFLO® plant for the City of Tacoma, Washington. The ACTIFLO process will be used to treat the peak wet weather wastewater flow.

Kruger worked with the City of Tacoma and the design build team of MWH and MWH Constructors on the design, evaluation, and selection phases of the project. MWH and Kruger have worked together on a number of successful projects including the City of Wilsonville, Oregon and City of Fresno, California drinking water treatment facilities.

Kruger's ACTIFLO system was selected as the preferred process due to its small footprint, quick startup times, and the ability to meet the difficult treatment standards.

The plant is scheduled to begin operations by December 2007.
