12 MGD ACTIFLO® process plant for the Santan Generation Station.

I. Kruger Inc. was awarded a contract from Salt River Project (SRP) for the supply of a 12 MGD ACTIFLO® process plant for the Santan Generation Station. SRP is the largest provider of electricity to the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, providing electric service to nearly 890,000 customers. ACTIFLO will treat raw water sufficiently to allow it to be used for process water at the newly upgraded power plant. The power plant is located in Gilbert, AZ and has a total capacity of 825 megawatts.

Kruger worked with the client's engineer Black and Veatch (B&V) on the design, evaluation, and selection phases of the project. B&V and Kruger have worked together on a number of successful projects including the 120 MGD Passaic Valley facility located in Totowa, NJ.

Kruger's ACTIFLO system was selected as the preferred process due to its small footprint, quick startup times, ability to treat a wide variety of source water conditions, and Kruger's ability to meet the obstinate deadlines.

The plant is scheduled to begin operations by November 2006.
